How our appointment system works

WE WILL BE MAKING SOME CHANGES TO OUR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM , EFFECTIVE FROM THE 4TH OF OCTOBER 20021. THE NUMBER OF ECONSULTS SLOTS AVAILABLE WILL BE REDUCED AND BE REPLACED WITH PRE BOOKABLE TELEPHONE SLOTS, PRE BOOKABLE FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENTS AND ONLINE PRE BOOKABLE APPOINTMENTS WITH A VARIETY OF CLINICIANS.

OUR PATIENT CARE ADVISORS WILL TRIAGE YOUR CALL AND NAVIGATE YOU TO THE MOST APPROPRIATE CLINICIAN FOR YOUR PROBLEM. WE ASK FOR YOUR COOPERATION WHEN SPEAKING TO THE ADVISORS AS THEY ARE ACTING ON THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE GP PARTNERS.

TELEPHONE APPOINTMENTS

We can only provide you with a guide time for when you will receive a prebooked call from a clinician as they may be delayed dealing with emergencies. Should you need a call back between specific times please advise us of this when making your booking and we will try our best to call you when specified. We appreciate that you may be busy, or working and will try not to inconvenience you.

When we are are capacity and cannot accept any further requests for appointments, the surgery will switch off the facility to submit an eConsult form until 08:00am the following day in order for the clinicians to keep up with the demand. Should you request be urgent, we advise you to contact the surgery and speak to the reception team who will help with your request.

Do It Online

You can sign up for Online services and make an appointment with a GP. At the moment we just have telephone appointments available to pre book online, but if the doctor calls and wants to see you, they will invite you down to the surgery for a face to face consultation.

How to sign-up

For more information, please contact reception or next time you visit the surgery, bring with you a piece of photo ID (passport, driving licence) and something with your address on like a bank statement but not a gas or electric bill. If you don’t have these, please talk to us and we will help you sign-up

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:

  • book or cancel appointments online-telephone calls only at the moment.
  • renew or order repeat prescriptions online
  • view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at www.nhs.uk/gponlineservices
